When It Rains, It Pours ...

I love this stamp by Technique Junkies. I got it last year at the stamp show in Columbia, SC. I used my Jane Davenport watercolors by painting each color onto the watercolor paper, let each color dry (they dry pretty fast) before adding the next color. I stamped the image using Versafine ink because I wanted a crisp black on top of all that color.

This seems only fitting since we still have snow on the ground

It's very odd to have snow on the ground here, after 4-5 days of it snowing. I mean, I do live in Concord, NC. LOL  It's finally gotten up to 50 degrees but so far, it's not melting. Our driveway and roads are pretty clear but our yard, not so much. The sun just doesn't hit it enough I guess.

For this card, I stamped this brand new cute snowman onto water-color cardstock. I colored him using Jane Davenport watercolor paints. I tore sheets of paper to glue to the side of the card. Then added washi tapes to the bottom of the snowman.

Striped with Copics

This background was so easy and I really love how it came out. All I did was take 3 different Copic markers and made stripes along the Yupo paper. That's it!  I water-colored him with Tombow markers and also used Copics for his scarf and gloves.

WOW. We got 7" of snow this week

And that is A LOT of snow for us in the Carolina's. Here are just a few pics from the past few days. I was really wanting to make a snowman but the snow was so dry that it would not hold together. Oh well. Maybe next time!??!??! Our driveway is finally beginning to melt ... I hope I can run to the library to pick up some books.

With Heartfelt Sympathy

I was playing with my Yupo paper and Copic refills to get this background.

Cards in Envy - Tuxedo

Cards in Envy's second challenge for 2018 is "Tuxedo" (cards in black and white). You can see the challenge here. All cards must fit into a standard size envelope for easy mailing.

This is a blue footed booby which is a bird found in the Pacific Ocean region. Normally, I would have colored his feet "blue" but since this challenge is for black and white only, I just left it as is.  LOL

He's a cute little bird, isn't he?

I feel like I have been using this moose for every single card I've been making but he is my most favorite recent purchase. My son just got back from 10 days in Canada so I am sending his friend this card to say thanks for having him. She actually gets to see an occasional REAL moose when she goes hiking. Wouldn't that be awesome!?!??!?!?!

I water-colored him and the hot cocoa using Jane Davenport watercolors. I added some Sun and Moon Glaze to the hot cocoa to make it look more "real". I love that glaze!!

Yupo and alcohol inks anyone?

I was at Hobby Lobby the other day and found some Yupo paper. I got out my Copic refills, dropped a few drops of the refills along with some Copic Colorless Blender onto the Yupo paper to get this cool effect. I thought it would make a great little background for a Valentine's card since Valentine's Day is just around the corner. I colored "Spruce" the Moose using some Tombow watercolor markers along with Copics for his scarf and gloves.

I Miss You

For this challenge, they want you to "Frame it" and I immediately thought "how about a card using a "framed" window?  So I hope this qualifies for the challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters. I water-colored the image with Jane Davenport watercolors.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Soon, Valentine's Day will be here so why can't I use Spruce the Moose for my card? I hadn't used my Jane Davenport watercolor inks in awhile so I used those to color him and the hearts.

A dog sympathy card

Sometimes a dog sympathy card is needed .... This was pretty easy. I used a piece of Yupo paper (which I found at Hobby Lobby) and I used my Copic markers and colorless blender to make the background colors. Then I added this cute dog die cut by Penny Black.

A snowman new years card

Only 14 degrees here in the Carolina's this morning. I can't seem to get warmed up!!  It's been awhile since I colored with  my colored pencils. In fact, I think I had sold my colored pencils in a used stamp awhile ago and missed them so I found this set at Marshall's on clearance and thought I would give them a "go" again. To add the little white "snow" drops in the background, I used my white signo pen (note to self, mine is almost all dried up so I need to get a new one the next time I go to Hobby Lobby).

Happy Happy Happy Birthday

When Purple Onion Designs had their 25% off sale last month, I had to grab these moose and hot cocoa stamps. Oh he's so fun to color. I watercolored him using my Tombow markers and water. The hot cocoa stand I stamped in Stazon Spiced Chai brown ink and I didn't think it needed colored in so I left it "as is".  I added some patterned paper and some washi tape and voila, all finished and ready to mail out from one moose lover to another :).
